LEGO The Twin Titan Mechs (71870): Worth ₹14,999?

Your wallet probably winced just reading that price. ₹14,999 for a LEGO set. Yeah, we see you. It's a lot of plastic, even if it is Ninjago.

The Twin Titan Mechs (71870) lands with a hefty price tag, and honestly, it’s a tough pill to swallow. You’re getting two mechs here, which sounds like double the fun, but the piece count is a little… selective. At 1,708 pieces, that’s a rather steep cost per brick. The mechs themselves look decent enough in the renders, with a good range of articulation promised for posing and play. The ability to swap weapons and arms between them is a nice touch, adding some customisation potential for those who like to tinker.

The inclusion of three minifigures is standard for a set of this size and theme. We get Kai and Nya in pilot suits, who can apparently be swapped to become Jin and Mira. Plus, there's an Oni Warrior to face off against. It’s a good mix for recreating scenes from the new NINJAGO Legends storyline, Duskfall. The display stand for mid-air poses is also a thoughtful addition, elevating the display value for those who plan to keep this on a shelf rather than dive straight into battle.

But let's talk about that price again. ₹14,999. That’s an eye-watering sum for 1,708 pieces. You could get two or even three other substantial LEGO sets for that kind of money. While the articulation and customisation options are appealing, they don't quite justify the premium price point. It feels like you're paying a lot for the Ninjago license and the sheer size of the finished models, rather than for an abundance of bricks or innovative building techniques. The LEGO Builder app integration is a standard feature now, so that doesn't add much to the value proposition either.

For the dedicated Ninjago fan who absolutely must have every mech, this might be a must-buy. But for the average LEGO collector looking for good value, this set is a hard pass at its current MRP. There are far better ways to spend ₹14,999 in the LEGO universe, offering more pieces, more engaging builds, or more iconic characters. We’d advise waiting for a significant discount or a clearance sale before even considering adding this to your collection.

At review, it was priced at ₹14,999 on LEGO.in and Toycra. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Verdict: WAIT.

Standard disclaimer: rich readers can skip the verdict and just buy it. We'll be over here checking if LEGO.in's HDFC EMI discount makes this hurt less.

On that bombshell, it's time to say goodbye. I'll see you on the next one. Bubyee.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.
