BrickLink Designer Program University of Science set – Indian price still a mystery

Your wallet just enrolled in a crash course on bricks and bank balances. The tuition fee? Still unannounced, but expect the usual brick‑budget shock once the numbers land.

Joshua Kingma’s University of Science finally earned its spot in the BrickLink Designer Program after years of redesigns and perseverance. We caught up with the mind behind the sprawling campus to hear how a massive LEGO build moves from the drawing board to the brick bin. Kingma says the key was “thinking like an architect, building like a kid.” He talks about scaling the design, choosing the right colors, and keeping the build manageable for fans who might not have a whole warehouse of bricks at home.

The set promises a detailed academic quad, lecture halls, and a central library – all rendered in classic LEGO form. It’s a love letter to campus life, complete with tiny tables, benches, and a few “student‑sized” vehicles. For builders who love cityscapes, this could become a new centerpiece in any display room. The interview also reveals that the set will be released under the BrickLink Designer Program, meaning it’s not a regular LEGO store exclusive but a community‑driven release.

No word on a release date yet, but the BrickLink listing suggests a late‑2026 global launch. That timing puts Indian fans in the usual 4–6 week lag zone, unless you’re ready to import. Expect the usual import‑only scenario for BDP sets, with the added risk of price inflation once they hit the Indian market.

No Indian store prices yet. MyBrickHouse and Toycra are the stores to watch — code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch.

Verdict: WAIT. Good set, but the price will drop.

On that bombshell, bubyee.
